Iconic photos of a changing city, and commentary on our Collections & Exhibitions from the crew at MCNY.org
“If I stayed home, I’d have to live like everybody else. If I came to New York, I could be myself.” — Gloria Steinem.
Since the Museum’s exhibtion New York at Its Core opened in November, visitors have had the opportunity to explore the lives of a number of notable New Yorkers through a series of interactive portraits. One of the most influential figures in late 20th century New York, the feminist pioneer Gloria Steinem, joined Chief Curator Sarah Henry for a walk through the exhibition, a chance to see the digital exploration of her life in New York, and a conversation afterwards about what makes New York New York.
This week, we’d like to invite you to visit the Museum’s Stories page, where we share many of our past blog posts, as well as highlight new content that expands upon our exhibitions and programs with features such as videos and sound recordings.
Visit the Stories page of the museum’s website to watch the video and learn more.
